Communities have an important role in:
- identifying inequities
- taking action to reduce inequities, and
- promoting equitable and innovative practices
Organizations need to share power and partner in an inclusive and authentic way with community members, and those with lived experience.
Community development approaches that build on existing community strengths to benefit the whole; and mobilizing through community, is an essential part of taking action.
