Levels of Action – Systems
Equity Framework > Levels of Action > Systems
A system is the relationships among interconnected structures and people. Lasting solutions to systemic inequities require systems change.
Action at the systems level seeks to change inequitable structures and transform the underlying power dynamics, relationships, narratives, and histories that sustain these structures.
An equity lens is essential to systems change and include redistribution of power to avoid perpetuation of systemic inequities.
Examples of action at the systems level include:
- Utilize Equitable Recruitment, Retention and Advancement Practices
- Allocate Resources
- Support Innovation
- Set Reasonable Timelines & Targets
- Think Strategically
- Improve Representation
