Drivers for Change – Use Inclusive Outreach
Equity Framework > Drivers for Change > Use Inclusive Outreach
Inclusive outreach is about making intentional connections with community. It is a transparent and ongoing activity. It has the potential to build strong, meaningful, and sustainable relationships. This outreach takes time, consistent follow-up, and thoughtful planning. Outreach may be broad or targeted to reach groups that experience exclusion.
The goal of inclusive outreach may be to inform, consult, collaborate, and/or empower. It extends beyond engaging representatives from different groups to include:
- gathering different perspectives;
- sharing decision-making;
- respecting differing views; and
- influencing next steps.
